2016 PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS
Some Association members are concerned that the 2016 MPAC property assessment does not accurately reflect the value of their property.
In light of the fact that municipal taxes will be based on these assessments, members are reminded that individual property owners have the right to request that their property assessment be reviewed and/or appealed.
The Association can and will advocate on all members 'behalf with municipal council in relation to taxes, but individuals should be aware of the legislated deadlines affecting their ability to have their assessments reviewed and/or appealed.
Property owners have 120 days to submit a request for review and 90 days to apply for an appeal.
Any member who is concerned over the recent assessment is encouraged to review their options outlined in the following websites:

Cottages are a target for thieves especially in the winter months. The West Nipissing Police Service receives numerous complaints from cottage owners from around the municipality especially when opening up the cottages in the springtime. Below is a document containing important information provided to Clear Lake Cottagers' Association from the West Nipissing Police Service. For more information please contact Constable Denis Marleau at the West Nipissing Police Service - 705-753-1234
