Dear Members,
Please be advised that the West Nipissing Fire & Emergency Services has implemented a COMPLETE FIRE BAN as of May 17th, 2018 in the Municipality of West Nipissing.
For more information please visit their website below.
Volunteers are invited to take part in cleanup of area roadsides and the public beach on Saturday May 12, 2018. Those interested should attend at the intersection of Clear Lake Rd and Northshore Rd at 9:00 a.m.
UPDATED 19 MAY 2021
Due to the strengthening of Ontario’s Stay-at-Home Order we are asking volunteers, that wish to do so, to participate on their own time. We will not be gathering on May 1st as previously stated.
It has also come to our attention that a call across West Nipissing to participate in a municipality wide roadside clean up has occurred. Some of the roadways and areas that we typically have covered may have already had some attention given to them.
Again, please contact us for bags if you are in need.
Thank you to everyone who has or will participate in this years “event” !
The CLCA has been contacted by the Lake Partner Program to participate in the 2017 Ontario Recreational Lakes and Algae Survey.
This survey forms part of a graduate student project, and is being conducted as a partnership between Queen’s University, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, the Muskoka Watershed Council, the Federation of Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA), and Nipissing University.
The study’s overall goal is to assess the health of lakes in Ontario. The researchers are very interested in recording the opinions and insights of residents and cottage owners, as they are the most frequent users and most familiar with their lake.
Building on a similar survey conducted by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment in 1985-1986, the 2017 Ontario Recreational Lakes and Algae Survey will assess residents and cottager owners’ perceptions of lake health. It will also gather data on how perceptions regarding algae have changed over time, and if and how algae impact recreational enjoyment on lakes.
They would like to hear from us. If you are interested in participating in the survey, please click on the link below.
